Fri 7.6.2019 at 19:00 Kotka Concert Hall

(Friday's 7.6. concert is Kymijoen Lohisoitto Music Festival's concert, information about the tickets below)

Our 20th anniversary spring season ends with a flourish to the imposing sound of the joint St. Petersburg Philharmonia and Kymi Sinfonietta in some of the best-loved treasures in the Russian musical repertoire. Mikhail Glinka’s bubbling overture to Ruslan and Ludmila leads us to Rachmaninoff’s most popular piano concerto – a work that has found its way into many film scores. The yearning and nostalgia of the exquisite melodies of that other great master of the Romantic era, Pyotr Tchaikovsky, are guaranteed to linger long in the memory.

Overture to Ruslan and Ludmila
